This post is located in the Meetings Coordination and Planning Unit, Meetings Management Section, Central Planning and Coordination Service (CPCS), Division of Conference Management (DCM), United Nations Office at Geneva.

工作内容

Under the supervision of the Chief, Meetings Management Section, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Leads the provision of accessibility services at UNOG and promotes their development:
• Ensures that the legislative mandates approved by the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the Economic and Social Council and other authorized organs in respect of accessibility services are duly coordinated and provided in a timely and efficient manner.
• Acts as focal point in promoting accessibility services and provides guidance to clients on accessibility services, policies and practices at UNOG.
• Coordinates the provision of accessible services with external providers for real time remote captioning, and with internal UNOG services for sign language interpretation, Ensures that that accessibility services support to clients is carried out in a quality and timely fashion.
• Contributes/drafts substantive inputs on accessibility to the pattern of conferences reports, conference management reports, as well as other required or ad-hoc reports. Drafts communications on accessible services to clients.
• Identifies and monitors the progress of innovative technological solutions applied to develop a more efficient provision of accessible services for enhaning accessibility for persons with disabilities. Undertakes business analysis in conjunction with technological developments. Tracks and monitors project progress against plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes and liaises with users on all matters during the development and implementation phases.

- Manages the work of the Meetings Servicing Unit:
• Ensures proper management of the staff of the Unit: sets priorities, gives authoritative advice and provides guidance as required. Acts as First Reporting Officer for the staff of the Unit and manages their performance. Establishes and oversees the daily assignments in the conference rooms of the staff of Unit and ensures the adequate recruitment of temporary Meeting Servicing Assistants (MSAs) in accordance with meetings servicing workload.
• Coordinates and oversees the training of all staff of the Unit in accordance with existing and future conference servicing rules, procedures and protocol.
• Coordinates surveys on the quality of conference services provided by UNOG, in consultation with Evaluation, Analysis and Monitoring Section (EAMS) and substantive secretariats.
• Oversees the coordinated delivery of services in UNOG conference rooms.

- Coordinates and monitors the processing of requests for interpretation support during the missions of the Special Rapporteurs, Commission of Inquiries, eligible Working Groups and other mandate holders. Oversees the use and maintenance of the dedicated eTool for those purposes. Ensures that all requests are within established entitlements and are serviced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Coordinates extra-budgetary and special events organized at UNOG. Liaises with the different sections and services at UNOG for the provision of services requested. Negotiates with clients on the acceptance of options ensuring a cost-effective, rational use of conference resources.
- Assists the Chief of Section in all matters related to the provision of accessible services and, as required, represents the Section at meetings on conference accessibility and coordination.

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communications, languages, social sciences, business or public administration, event or operations management, international affairs, information management systems or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with at least two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

工作经验

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in conference management, administration, operation management systems, programme management or related field is required.
Out of the seven (7) years, three (3) years of experience in activities directly related to conference servicing preferably in the United Nations Common system, other intergovernmental organizations, or in the private sector at the international level is desirable
A minimum of two-year experience in planning accessible conferences and servicing intergovernmental conferences is desirable.
Experience in change management, business analysis, and development of policies and procedures is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language would be an advantage.
